Senior Pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming Of Jesus Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa has urged the people of Ondo state to disregard coronavirus status of governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, describing it as fake.
Giwa, who stated this while addressing his church members in Akure on Sunday, said there was nothing wrong with Mr. Akeredolu.
According to the cleric, Akeredolu decided to isolate himself so as to prepare for the All Progressives Congress primary coming up on October 20.
“If God had showed me that governor Akeredolu was infected with coronavirus, I would have prayed for him.
“You don’t pray God to heal a disease that does not exist in our society. Many of you would remember a woman living in Arakale who was said to have died of heart attack, but the government told us therafter that she died of coronavirus.
“Our governor is having a malaria, and I think he is recuperating from it.
“It is a futile effort for a pastor to pray to God to heal a manufactured disease that they now capitalize on to further cripple our economy.
“People no longer die of the flu, malaria etc again. If you hear that someone is dead, he or she probably died of coronavirus.
“What king of people are these? Where is their conscience?
“Governor Akeredolu is hale and hearty; he is just preparing for the primary election of his party.
“You know his deputy has gone to another party, and the governor is still suffering from the unexpected situation.
“Is it not better for the governor to sit back and be thankful to God for what He had done?
“He is not part of those who know the game, he is just trying his best,” Giwa stated.
