The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in conjunction with the Skills Development Entrepreneurship Company has organized a one month Skill acquisition/ empowerment program to run throughout the month of June 2022 at Orhuwhorun in Udu LGA.
The skills to be acquired are computer training, web design, video coverage, electrical installation, driving, tailoring, estate management consultancy, crane operations, onshore and offshore rigging, pond fishing, catering, tiles setting, solar installation, ‘gele’ tying, water diving, make up & nails fixing.
The chairman of CAN, Udu LGA, Rev. Fr. Andrew Orogun of St Benedict Catholic Church Orhuwhorun said that the training was born out of love for mankind, to take people away from poverty and make the youth better persons in the society.
He also said that after the training they would be taken to companies for industrial training.
One of the expectant beneficiaries, Onome Jite expressed joy as she said that her dream of becoming a fashion designer would be fulfilled.
