Rev, Fr, Peter Mobuogwu of the All Saints Catholic Church, Onicha Ugbo in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State has admonished Christians to believe what they read, teach what they believe and practice what they preach.
He stated this while delivering the Homily, saying that this was the only way they can teach with conviction, just as Paul and Bananas demonstrated after their conversion on their way to Damascus where they established a Christian community.
While explaining from the Gospel reading what the new commandment was all about said “you shall Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with your soul, and with all your strength and with all your mind; and your neighbour as yourself”
“Take note, Jesus said Love your neighbour as yourself ‘ but now Jesus is saying, Love one another as l have Loved you’
While the previous commandments depends on yourself, this new commandment is based on the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross for us”.
The newness of this commandment was that even if you don’t Love yourself, you should try to Love others by sacrificing for them, he added.
