The people of Ndokwa East local government area has been told to register for insecticide treated bed nets as distribution commences today.

This announcement was made at Aboh by Mrs Clementina Olise the health officer in charge of distribution of insecticide treated bed nets in the local government area.

She said that this has become necessary for the health department to ascertain the number of treated nets distributed and the houses that benefited.

Mrs olise said that the aim is to stamp out malaria fever by the Okowa administration which has been sustained throughout his tenure in office.

She frowned at people who collect the net for fishing and fencing of farm lands, stating that it will no longer be business as usual as those caught in such act will be sanctioned.

Today’s exercise is mainly on the distribution of net to indigenes from Aboh, Abuator, Ogbene and Ibrede communities while further distribution to more communities continues tomorrow.

A nursing mother Mrs Juliet who is also a beneficiary thanked the state government for the net as she got two nets to cover her family effectively to prevent malaria.
