Many beneficiaries of the Delta State Government’s Job Creation Scheme have continued to share amazing testimonies of how the scheme took them out of the streets and made them meaningfully engaged to live a life of self-reliance. One of such beneficiaries is Oge Dominica Uchunu. She hails from Ndokwa West Local Government Area and has HND in Computer Science from the Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku.
She is a beneficiary of the Graduate Employment Enhancement Programme (GEEP) and now works with Animal Care Services Consult Nig. LTD, Asaba. She began as an intern.
After six months of internship, she was retained by the company and has since been promoted to the position of Senior Officer 1 in ICT Department of the organization.
“I enrolled in the programme four years ago. I applied to Animal Care Konsult, Asaba because they needed a graduate who studied Computer Science to assist them.
“Indeed, job creation office gave me a letter of recommendation to them as a GEEP candidate. Without any delay, I resumed work as an ICT Support in the company, where I was trained in their mode of operation.
“The GEEP programme was scheduled to run for six months with a monthly stipend of thirty thousand naira paid into my bank account by the state government.
