A young lady known as Ochuko in Ekpan in Uvwie Local Government Area, who was kidnapped in Ondo State has been released from the kidnappers’ den.
A very close friend to the victim known as Stanley, who narrated the incidence to our correspondent said the victim was currently serving as a corps member in Ondo State and that the victim was kidnapped on her way from Ondo State to Delta state.
According to Stanley, the kidnappers intercepted the bus and asked all the occupants to come down and they were taken into the bush.
Continuing, he said the kidnappers demanded a ransom of N1, 000,000 (one million naira) from the relatives of Ochuko but after negotiation and pleadings, the sum of N500,000 (five hundred thousand naira) was paid for the victim’s release.
Ochuko, who also spoke to our correspondent, said she gave thanks to God almighty for sparing her life and called on the Federal and State Government to beef security on our roads. Efforts to get reach the Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Police to comment on the issue proved abortive.
