The Chairman of Ndokwa West Local Government Council of Delta State, Chief Obi Nzete has charged the members of the newly reconstituted Ndokwa West Revenue Committee, to be honest and upright in their responsibilities of revenue collections in the area to boost the financial base of the local government.

Nzete gave this charge during an interactive meeting with members of the committee in his office at the council secretariat in Kwale, headquarters of the local government.

While stating that the committee members were to handle all revenues including motor parts fees and daily motor parks tickets in all motor parks in Ndokwa West, he admonished them to be transparent and resist the temptation of embezzling public fund meant for the development of the area.

Nzete urged the committee to honestly remit all revenues collected, adding that the local government seriously depended on the revenue generated internally to accelerate the rate of development in the area.

Responding, the chairman of the committee, Mr Jackson Orumili, expressed appreciation to the council boss for considering them worthy of the mandate of revenue collection, assuring that they would not disappoint.

It will be recalled that last month, all standing revenue committees in Ndokwa West was dissolved by the chairman and they were directed to stop collection of any form of revenue on behalf of the council. They were further directed to hand over all council property and documents which were in their possession while they served the local government as revenue collectors.
