Oil Tanker Explodes On East-West Road

There was an explosion of a tanker loaded with petroleum product on the East-West Road by Agbarho Bridge, Ughelli North Local Government Area in the morning of Friday 13th May, 2022.

It was gathered that the oil tanker on speed of lighten skidded off the road when driver lost control and in the process capsized.

It was alleged that the driver was on the hot chase of some government security agents.

It was further gathered that the inferno extended in the Agbarho River and it impeded vehicular movements on the ever busy East- West. No life was lost. 

When our correspondent arrived the scene of the incident, the fire had been put off and wreckage of the ill- fated oil tanker has been removed.

There was no response from the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Bright Edafe who contacted by our correspondent through a text message for confirmation of the incident at as the time of filing this report.

The PPRO Delta State Police Command, Asaba has just confirmed that there was an explosion of oil tanker on the East – west Road by Agbarho Bridge in Ughelli North Local Government Area.
