A prominent leader from Opuama Community in Warri North Local Government, Alhaji Emmanuel Omoko, has called on Egbema communities to support the former Nigeria millitant commander of the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, Chief Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, in ensuring the success of the pipeline surveillance contract.

Alhaji Omoko made this call when he met with men, women and youths from Opuama and tsekelewu communities to sensitize them on the intricacies surrounding the contract.

“The contract given to Tompolo is a big temptation to the Niger Delta. If he does not succeed, he is in trouble.

“That is why it is very important that as people from the Niger Delta, we must support him to succeed,” he said.

While lamenting the level of wreckage illegal bunkering has done to the nation’s economy, the Opuama leader urged them to desist from unlawful act, as the federal government will not hesitate arrest and persecute offenders.

“I urge you all to advise your children or brothers to desist from this unlawful act because it will not favour anyone.

“If you say you want to go into illegal bunkering because nobody gave you job, it is not me that will arrest and persecute you, and it is the federal government,” he noted.

He further emphasized saying that was no longer news that part of the surveillance contract  was awarded to me  after it was awarded to Tompolo, to ensure smooth running of the project.

“I also called you here to let you know that job slots will be given to some men, women and youths, before your respective leaders furnish you with further information on the issue,” he maintained.
