The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Beautiful Gate Mega Parish, Region 23 Headquarters, Airport Road Warri South Local Government Area in Delta State, has offered free health services to residents in Warri today.
Aside from giving the residents free eye test, the church also ensured that opportunities were given to them to know their health status.
The residents were tested for sugar level in the blood, Hepatitis B, blood pressure, and malaria, among others.
Pastor Kelvin Nwaboshi, who is the Pastor in charge of Beautiful Gate Mega Parish Airport Road, said: “We discovered a need in the society that people are scared of going to the hospital due to the impact of COVID-19.
“Some of these diseases, you don’t even know you have them, but with our medical team which includes, medical doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians and pharmacist, are here to ensure that these patients are not only tested but also given the necessary treatment.
“Although we serve God and our aim is to make heaven, we should not allow health challenges to cut short our days here on earth.”
A beneficiary, Mrs Christy Okonkwo said: “I am very happy because I was diagnosed of an ailment since 2020 but due to financial constraints, I wasn’t able to go back for treatment but the church has given us free check up and treatment. I thank God and the church; I am very happy.
Victor Demola, another beneficiary, with his four children, said: “It is not easy to go to the hospital these days, due to the economic situation of the country, but now the medical team has taken my blood sample and that of my children for free. I am grateful to God.”
