Motorists and residents in Amachai Community, Okpanam, in Oshimili North Local Government Area, have decried the difficulties they face daily due to the deplorable condition of the main access road and other adjoining streets to Amachai Community.
In an interview with the residents yesterday, they complained of sufferind untold hardship for the past five years as a result of the deplorable State of the access road leadings to Amachai Community, starting from the roundabout to John Okafor road and some other adjoining streets.
Mr Benson Chuks, a resident who spoke with news men, blamed the condition of the roads on lack of regular maintenance.
Another residents, Oghenero Joseph, said because of the roads condition, trucks always fall down, adding that residents were scared most especially when it rains.
Roseline Chinedu, a motorist said that the road was never good, both during the rainy and dry season. “Whenever it rains, the road is always marshy and became difficult for motorists to ply,” she said.
A resident in John Okafor road said that the road conditions had affected many businesses and caused a lot of pains to residents and motorists living here.
The residents and motorists however acknowledged the good work that the Governor have being doing in Okpanam, and therefore appealed to his Senator Ifeanyi Okowa to come to their aid.
