Ukwuani LG Chairman, Ajade Inaugurates Sport & Education Committees

The Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government Council, Hon. Solomon Ajede, yesterday at the council secretariat in Obiaruky, constituted Education and Sports Committees with a charge to the members to contribute their quota towards delivering on their mandate.

Ajede congratulated the members for being chosen to serve Ukwuani people even as he tasked them to be worthy ambassadors by contributing their quota in improving sports, talents development and education in Ukwuani LGA.

The members of the Sports Committee are Amb. Odili Uche (Chairman); Hon Louis Ojebo, Mr Chidi Uwabuofu, Mr James Eberiko, Mr Monday Eke, Mr Sunday Tilije, Mrs Ego Idiagbon and Comr Afam Ogbolu.

Others are Desmond Ifeaka, Mike Otali , Efia Paul and Mrs Lovelyn Opia.

The sports committee, according to the council chairman, would among others, embark on aggressive talent hunt in the area to encourage the youth to participate in sporting activities and to further nurture already discovered talents and embark on any other programmes that might be assigned to the committee.

Members of the education committee are Fabian Okuzor (Chairman), Osabenyi Friday Ebinum, Emikpe Anthony Chibueze, Ossai Onyeka, Aghanenu Uche Abel and Ndumdi Orji Emmanuel.

Others are Victor Ndidi, Ovili Ishioma, Akpotowho Christopher, Uzoka Kizito Amaechi and Solomon Adibi.

The education committee was charged with the responsibility to encourage Ukwuani sons/daughters and genuine partners to invest in education, organise debate and quiz competitions in primary and secondary schools in the area and also be in charge in handling/organising and supervising educational programmes for school children in the locality.

The committee will also strive to reinstate quality education inspection in private and public schools within the LGA and to come up with viable programmes to support education and embark on any other programmes that may be assigned to them.

Responding on behalf of both Committees, Mr Osabenyi Ebinum, thanked the chairman for finding them worthy to serve the people of Ukwuani.

He assured the council chairman that they would deliver on their mandate in making Ukwuani people proud.
