Why I Fasted For 14 Days With My Wife Pastor E. Adeboye

The general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor E. Adeboye said on 7th-feb-2021 on Dove TV that he naturally didn’t wanted to be a pastor.

He wanted to live a comfortable life. But the opposite was the case. When the founder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God told me that I am going to be his successor,” I was like, Me? I told the founder that I can’t become a pastor, I even fasted for 14days with my wife just to cancel the appointment.

You see,” in those days in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, becoming a pastor, is like to be sentenced to poverty. At one time I even wrote him a letter telling him that I reject the call to be a pastor, I also told him to appoint another person and that I will give the person my best support.

But, do you know what he said to me? ” He said,” I don’t know why you are rejecting this call but, all I know is that,” I LOVE YOU”

You see’ in my life I don’t like disappointing those who loves me.

Those three words changed my mind and today, I am a pastor- the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

You see, your denial can never cancel your God’s given assignment. You may run but you can’t run forever. God knows what is best for you. He made you and therefore knows how to fulfill you. So, stop running and ask God to help you out.
