Why Pension Scheme Should Be Scrapped

Pension scheme in Nigeria has never been transparent.
Abdulrasheed Maina, a former chairman of Pension was alleged to have embezzled N2 billion pension fund. Today EFCC is yet to recover the money. This lead to his sacked by the then Jonathan Administration.

People work for years and portion of their income are saved for them as pension yet government fails to pay after their retirement from service.

We suggest government should scrapp the pension scheme and pay the full monthly entitlement to the workers so that they can do the pension themselves with private pension organization like Stanbic IBTC. With this workers do no longer need to fight for pension anymore.
