Youths Enforce Compliance With Environmental Sanitation In Warri

Some Youths in Okumagba community, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State have enforced compliance of the state monthly environmental sanitation in the community.

The youths were seen parading in various parts of the community with tricycles (keke) monitoring the exercise to ensure that residents come out for the environmental sanitation.

According to one of the youths, Felix Ovo, who spoke with newsmen, said the action had become necessarily because residents in the community do not come out during monthly environmental exercise.

This month environmental sanitation was tagged: Operation Clean Your Drainage” by the youth.

Residents were seen excavating blocked drainages to enable free flow of water and clearing of weeds by the side of drainages.

Speaking with newsmen, one Mr Pius, who reside in the community, stated that the action of the youth was a welcome development, adding that if they were consistent, the community would benefit from it the resultant cleanliness.

Pius further stated, saying “I commend the youth for taking such action and it shows they are living up to expectations.”

On her part, Mrs. Florence Enabo, stated: “Generally, what the youths did during the environmental sanitation is very good in as much they will not divert it to their personal interest.”
